Exploring Storytelling Through Kuchipudi dance

The following video is of me dancing on one of Annamaya's compositions " Alarulu Kuriyaga". This is was composition was dedicated to one of Lord Venkateswara's consorts, Goddess Padmavathi also known as Alavelumanga. This piece praises the beauty of Alavelumanga and the way she plays the simple throw and catch game with so much of divinity. Additionally, he also talks about the "Alaka" of her hair, Alaka in english means to get angry but in a softer way. To further break it down in simpler words, he spoke about the exaggerated movement of Alavelumanga's hair when she engages in games with her beloved friends. He mentions how her husband who is none other than Lord Venkateswara praises her for every simple thing that is performed by her. To know more watch the video.
